The secret to preparing a good beef brisket is in the temperature and in the cooking
time. This easy beef brisket recipe will make a delicious meal!
Preheat oven to 350.
Trim any excess fat, but leave a little for flavor.
Place a 3 to 4 pound trimmed beef brisket in a shallow 13 X 9 X 2 glass baking dish, fat side down.
Coat all sides (top and bottom) generously with Terrys Barbecue Sauce. Substitute with another barbecue sauce, but it won't be as good!
Do not add any water.
Cover with aluminum foil sealing all edges of the dish. This can be done the night before if
marinating is desired. Otherwise, 20 minutes before cooking is just fine.
Place beef brisket in oven and leave temperature on 350 for the first hour. Set the oven timer for one hour.
After the first hour of baking, simply turn down the oven heat to 325 degrees for the second hour of
baking.
Reduce heat to 300 for the third hour of baking. Leave on 300 until done, usually 3 and 1/2 to 4 hours depending
on the size of the brisket. Baking long and slow is the secret!
Let cool for 15 minutes before trimming remaining fat off bottom.
Slice diagonally across the grain so meat does not shred.
If you follow these simple cooking steps, your beef brisket will be so tender, it will melt in your mouth!
